Lee Culp, Dr. Alex Touchstone and Shannon Pace Brinker, aka the CAD CAMigos, put on three TV presentations at the Live Dentistry area on the trade show floor Saturday at the Chicago Dental Society Midwinter Meeting.
The three not only talked about the benefits of the E4D Dentist CAD/CAM system (E4D.com) but the presentation took place during a live patient demonstration in which Dr. Lida Swann designed and milled crowns that were placed in less than an hour.
"As a general dentist I need control," Dr. Touchstone said. "This system gives me more control of the process start to finish. Because I have more control I'm more profitable."
Culp, a lab technician and CAD/CAD innovator, stressed that the E4D system delivers predictability and added, "We're not losing the artistry by doing this."
Pace Brinker, CDA, CDD, was instrumental in developing the Chairside Dental Designer, is an assistant who uses this technology to help her practice run more efficiently, deliver single-visit crowns to happy patients, and a practice that truly operates on the idea of every team member playing a key role in the practice's success.
Culp suggested doctors interested in this technology "check out the systems and go have some fun. It's like a video game." But he added that E4D crowns are as good as those produced by traditional methods in labs.
