This BIOLASE educational opportunity will offer dental hygienists resources and mentorship for better patient care and outcomes.
BIOLASE has announced the launch of its Epic Hygiene Academy. The Epic Hygiene Academy was formed to offer continuing education (CE) on laser technologies for dental hygienists, according to president and CEO of BIOLASE, John Beaver.
"We are committed to enabling hygienists to deliver the highest quality of care, ultimately elevating the dental industry as a whole,” Beaver said in a press release from the company. "As BIOLASE continues to innovate in order to address current challenges, the program is designed to be a resource for dental hygienists with the most current and relevant technologies that they can use to provide quality care."
The academy is open to hygienists who use BIOLASE diode lasers and is said to empower them to provide best patient outcomes and care. It will be led by Valerie Dangler, RDH, BSDH. Designed to support dental hygienists, the academy will offer mentorship, case reviews, among other resources.
"I'm very excited to help lead the launch of the new Epic Hygiene Academy. This is a place dental hygienists can go to obtain information, continuing education, engage with peers and feel supported," Dangler said in the press release. "I am proud to support a community where hygienists can collaborate with mentors and educators in laser dentistry who are committed to our profession and to the pursuit of better patient outcomes."
As a part of this initiative, BIOLASE will also donate an Epic Hygiene laser to Greenville Technical College’s hygiene program, as well as training for faculty and students.
