Benco Dental Associates Help Company Earn Another Great Place To Work Certification

Benco Dental is not only the nation’s largest independent distributor of oral healthcare technology and supplies, but it’s a great place to work. For the ninth time in 10 years, the company has been certified by Great Place To Work.®

The prestigious award from the Great Place To Work global authority on workplace culture is based solely on what current employees say about their experience working at Benco Dental.

For this year, 85% of the dental distributor’s employees said it’s a great place to work—28 points higher than the average U.S. company, according to Benco.

“We know that a key driver of our continued success is the quality of our workplace and culture,” George Rable, Benco Dental’s chief culture and people officer, says in a press release announcing the honor. “Every day, making certain our associates know how much they’re valued is at the very top of our priorities. It’s about so much more than merely showing appreciation. Fostering a vibrant, healthy, engaging culture hinges on a relentless focus on respect and empowerment, and we’re humbled that our associates recognize our commitment.”

Rable adds it’s also gratifying to know that so many of the company associates enthusiastically take the time required to complete the detailed survey, which consists of more than 50 statements which employees rate across a 5-point consistency scale, plus 2 open-ended questions. It generally takes about 15 minutes to complete and the company carefully evaluates the resulting data for opportunities to improve the culture every year.

Joanne Stitzer, Benco Dental’s VP of customer and associate engagement, adds, “It’s very exciting to see how our results evolve from year to year…a great opportunity to get feedback on areas where we are winning and where we can improve.”

In addition to 85% of employees saying Benco Dental is a great place to work, other takeaways include:

• 93% said that when you join Benco Dental, you are made to feel welcome
• 90% agreed that they can take time off when they think it’s necessary
• 87% reported feeling a sense of pride in what they help to accomplish

Benco Dental has also appeared on several of Great Place To Work’s Great Workplaces Lists, including ranking #25 on the Fortune Best Workplaces in Health Care™ (Large) in both 2022 and 2023, the company states.

According to Great Place To Work research, job seekers are 4.5 times more likely to find a great boss at a Certified great workplace. Also of note, employees at Certified workplaces are 93% more likely to look forward to coming to work, and are twice as likely to be paid fairly, earn a fair share of the company’s profits and have a fair chance at promotion.
