WALTHAM, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Astra Tech, leading provider of comprehensive solutions for dental implant therapy, is pleased to announce the expansion of Atlantis™ Abutment options to include the NobelActive™ NP 3.5 and RP 4.3, 5.0 implants for North American customers.

Astra Tech provides patient-specific abutments in a choice of four material options, including titanium, gold-shaded titanium, white zirconia and shaded zirconia.

Providing Atlantis Abutments for NobelActive™ implants further secures Astra Tech’s leadership position in providing patient-specific abutments for all major implant systems. This introduction is the latest in a series of Atlantis Abutments being developed for new implant interfaces such as the Straumann™ Bone Level implants. Astra Tech plans to introduce additional interfaces and material choices for the Atlantis™ patient-specific solution in 2010.

Atlantis abutments are designed and fabricated using Atlantis VAD™ (Virtual Abutment Design) software, a patented process that combines state-of-the-art 3D optical scanning, advanced software and manufacturing methods to deliver patient-specific abutments that eliminates the need for hand modification.

Atlantis abutments help to expand the possibilities for cement-retained implant restorations and are available for all major implant systems and in titanium, gold-shaded titanium and two shades of zirconia.
