Dental product and design company AJK Engineering has introduced the Lotus DPA, a splatter reducing disposable prophy angle.
The splatter created by the rotating cup of other prophy angles has been cause for concern for hygienists due to airborne viruses. The Lotus DPA is designed to address these concerns.
Its features include a dimple design on the outside of the cup to retain saliva and a splatter guard that eliminates the accumulated saliva from the outside of the cup during each rotation.
The positioning of the splatter guard, along with its unique shape with a thin blade that remains stiff during procedures, stay in constant contact with the cup while still remaining flexible enough for patient comfort. The cup design is also transparent for better visibility.
