5 Dental Minutes, a new video curation and sharing platform, has been announced for the dental industry.
The first day of CDS 2016 kicked off with a press conferebce announcing the official launch of 5dentalminutes.com (5DM). 5DM is the first online video platform to focus on knowledge sharing and content curation in dentistry.
By 2017, video will account for 69 percent of all consumer Internet traffic, according to Cisco. Experts agree that most consumers who watch product videos are more confident in purchasing products online. In addition, more video is uploaded to YouTube every month than what the three major networks have created in the past 60 years.

With these trends in mind, the company's founders-Dr. Jonathan Ferencz, New York, USA, Dr. Stefano Gracis, Milan, Italy, Dr. Rafi Romano, Tel Aviv, Israel, and Quintessence Publishing hope to build an informational platform based on short denta videos to share. "Users can share all the information. It's fast, easy, specific and global," said Dr. Ferencz. "The site is optimized just for dentistry and will save the dental professionals a lot of time."
5DM is designed to give visibility to content providers who create short videos featuring product information, clinical techniques, and educational opportunities and who want to quickly reach an audience of potential customers.
5DM’s dedicated dental platform gives users access to relevant information in a fast, effective manner without the “noise” of the Internet and allows them to obtain more information by clicking on short explainer videos, which take users directly to content providers’ websites or platforms. Many dental companies already understand the importance of video marketing and have enrolled as content providers on 5DM: 3Shape, Ivoclar Vivadent, Henry Schein, Kuraray, Zirkonzahn, Camlog.
