SciCan has announced its new SANAO line of precision handpieces that, SciCan says, are balanced to reduce wrist strain, optimally miniaturized for maneuverability and have the option to be equipped with glass-rod fiber-optics to illuminate the oral cavity.

SciCan has announced its new SANAO line of precision handpieces that, SciCan says, are balanced to reduce wrist strain, optimally miniaturized for maneuverability and have the option to be equipped with glass-rod fiber-optics to illuminate the oral cavity.

Features of the new SANAO handpiece line include the following:

HPS (Hygiene Protection System): SANAO uses a unique resin filling to close the gap between the outer and inner sleeves that is notoriously a difficult area to clean. These hard to clean channels within the SANAO line of handpieces are filled with SciCan’s HPS resin that closes the door on any material that might otherwise find its way inside.

SciCan’s HPS resin helps prevent build up of debris inside the handpiece.

Ergonomics: Due to optimized mass distribution of the handpiece and a system that is shorter and lighter, SANAO handpieces used with the E-STATIS SLM motor reduces stress on the hand and wrist.

Power: Combine the ergonomic design of the SANAO line of handpieces with SciCan’s E-STATIS SLM, the smallest torque controlled motor in the industry, and you have a stress reducing combination. SciCan says it provides less fatigue and more control.

The SANAO was officially launched in the U.S. last week during the 2014 Chicago Dental Society Midwinter Meeting.
