At this year’s Chicago Midwinter meeting, Microcopy announced the release of its new NeoBurr 5572 blended-neckTM carbide. Dentists depend on carbides for the most rigorous procedures, making the burs prone to breakage.

The new, stronger 5572 with its patent-pending design is sure to bring needed relief to those dental practitioners who routinely experience issues with carbide breakage.

Coupled with its single-piece carbide construction, the new 5572 boasts unrivaled strength due to the blended-neck design. This innovative design removes any weak points in the bur’s neck that might otherwise cause breakage. In a recent blind study, the NeoBurr 5572 was tested against three top-selling competitive burs and proved to be up to 70 percent stronger than the competition.

After a recent product evaluation, Dr. Marty Jablow said the following, “Chrome cobalt is about the hardest material to which I will subject a bur. The blended neck 5572 bur easily adjusted the partial denture major connector and, in fact, I even attempted to break the bur on purpose and could not.”

“We know that dentists use up to five carbides, sometimes more, in completing certain dental procedures. Our testing has shown that the new 5572 exhibits minimal breakage when used during the toughest restoration procedures,” said Paul Tucker, Director of Marketing at Microcopy. Microcopy plans to release additional blended neck shapes as they are developed.
