MacPractice DDS 5.1 has the best dental charting and online patient services, including HIPAA-compliant secure messaging,” said Mark Hollis, MacPractice co-founder and CEO. “With MacPractice DDS, patients can use iPads, as well as our integrated online patient services, to enter demographics and clinical information, and dentists and hygienists can review patient-entered structured data, visit notes, photos and X-rays on an iPad with their patient. With MacPractice 5.1, dentists avoid expensive web services contracts using superior online solutions available at lower cost with superior software integration and support and functionality that can only be provided by their practice management software developer.”
Innovator Profile: MacPractice explosion of mobile technology
MacPractice’s updated clinical abilities include Perio 2, Restorative 2 and DR 2 (digital radiography/photo). Scheduling has also been rewritten to boost speed and performance in the office, especially for remote offices.
MacPractice 5.1 is said to set a new standard for integrated practice communications. Besides integrated faxing and HIPAA-secure messaging powered by Updox and MacPractice, MacPractice plans to provide every service available from third parties to its users at a lower cost and with tighter integration and greater security, along with web services not available from other vendors.
For practices without a website, MacPractice plans to create and host a one-page site for $10 monthly. MacPractice 5.1 has new practice management reports requested by dentists. MacPractice’s preferred vendor for phone, text and/or email patient reminders is AutoRemind, which is tightly integrated with MacPractice Schedule and includes automatic appointment status updates. MacPractice partners with Transworldto provide in-application collection services superior to those offered by web services that cannot write back to practice management software.
