J. MORITA USA announces Tri Auto ZX2, a compact, cordless motor with a built-in apex locator. Redesigned with breakthrough canal treatment technology, this unit is said to simplify procedures while protecting the patient with innovative safety features.

Tri Auto ZX2 may be used for achieving apical patency and creating a glide path with the new Optimum Glide Path (OGP) function. Engineered to be responsive, the handpiece allows for subtle and delicate manipulation of the file, facilitating faster and safer treatment in even the most difficult cases involving constricted or extremely curved canals. Rotary files sized as small as #10 may be used.

“Our endodontic customers are excited about the potential for OGP technology,” says Walid Wardaki, vice president of merchandise sales for J. MORITA USA. “The ability to achieve patency and create glide paths with a motor, as opposed to hand files, is a big step forward for motors in canal treatment. OGP will streamline the root canal procedure.”

In addition, this unit is said to offer proven Optimum Torque Release (OTR) technology, currently available on the Root ZX II apex locator handpiece. During file rotation, the torque is automatically measured. If the torque exceeds a preset value, the file reverses rotation incrementally until the torsion is released and then resumes in the cutting direction. OTR is designed to offer superior navigation of canals, improve efficiency, and help to reduce the possibility of file jamming, breakage, ledge formation in curved canals and canal transportation.

Tri Auto ZX2 also features a built-in apex locator. The motor is linked with the canal measurement function and the position of the file tip inside the canal is shown in the LCD display. For added safety, the motor stops or reverses rotation as soon as the file reaches the end of the working length to prevent over instrumentation. The motor also automatically starts when the file is inserted into the canal and stops when it is removed.

Licensed dentists are invited to stop by the Morita Booth #727 at the AAE Annual Meeting, April 25-27, to try the new Tri Auto ZX2. An LED wooden clock will be given FREE with product trial, while supplies last.
