DENTSPLY Caulk chose the 2011 ADA Annual Session as the time and place to launch a pair of new restorative products with the debut of the Palodent Plus Sectional Matrix System and Integrity Multi-Cure temporary crown and bridge material. Both products are aimed at providing clinicians with new tools to help them provide effective and efficient restorations.
Palodent Plus is designed for Class II restorations and provides a complete system comprised of wedgeguards, wedges, matrix bands, rings and customized tools used to place and remove the matrix components during composite restoration placement. The process starts with a wedgeguard that is placed in conjunction with the wedge to help facilitate preparation of the tooth. The wedgeguard is removed leaving the wedge in place allowing placement of the matrix band which features a pronounced marginal ridge and a gingival apron shaped to prevent gaps. Two ring sizes are available and special forceps and pin tweezers are used to place and adjust the system component during treatment.
Integrity Multi-Cure is designed for use in creating predictable and durable provisional restorations. The bis-acrylic material is availabe in 5 shades and self-cures in 5 minutes, but can be light cured in less than 2 minutes. Clinicians can reduce treatment times when light curing can be used, while retaining the option to spend more time designing the ideal temporary restoration by allowing the material to self cure.
