Applying New Technologies: Starcaster™

Star power

The Starcaster high-capacity induction casting unit handles a wide range of alloys.

Information provided by Nobilium/Ticonium.

Built to accommodate the needs of the large laboratory, the heavy-duty Starcaster electronic induction casting machine is engineered to cast most precious, semi-precious, and non-precious alloys in less than 60 seconds. Equipped with an electronic eye with laser sight for crucible location and precise alloy melting plus a heat-soak control for adjustability of the melting cycle, the caster may be used in full-auto mode or as a manual casting machine. Its adjustable casting arm allows casting of 60- to 600-gram casting rings and features a variable-speed take-off centrifuge. Alloy temperature is displayed in easy-to-read numbers on the control panel. An interlocking hood prevents the casting arm from spinning when the cover is up. The compact unit measures 27½-inches square (using less than 5-sq.-ft. of floor space) and 55-inches high with the electronic eye.
